Privacy policy
Protecting your data matters to me. This website is deliberately lean: it uses no cookies and no analytics or tracking tools. Fonts and program code are hosted entirely on the website’s own server. Below you can find out which data is nevertheless processed when you visit.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Thorben Danke
Ulmenweg 9
74354 Besigheim, Germany
Email: microart@sagaoptics.de
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit the website, your browser automatically transmits information to the server, which may be stored in so-called server log files. This includes:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file requested and amount of data transferred
- whether the request was successful
- browser type and version, operating system
- referrer URL (the previously visited page)
This processing is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability (e.g. to fend off attacks). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website. The log files are stored by the host only for a limited period and are then deleted or anonymised. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with STRATO, ensuring that the data is processed only on my instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
3. Encryption
For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
4. No cookies, no tracking
This website does not set cookies and does not store any information on your device. No analytics, statistics or advertising services are used. The fonts used (Anton, Manrope) are loaded locally from this server; no connection is made to Google Fonts or other external font providers.
5. Contact form and email
When you use the contact form, the data you enter (name, email address, optionally phone number, subject and message) is transmitted to the server in encrypted form and forwarded from there to me by email. The form data is not stored on the web server. To protect against automated spam, the form contains a field that is invisible to humans and a time check; no additional data is collected and no cookies are set. Your name, email address and message are required in order to answer your enquiry.
If you send me an email or use the contact form, I process your details solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract (e.g. an image order or licence), otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in replying). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
6. YouTube videos
Some pages embed videos from the YouTube platform. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The videos are embedded using a two-click solution: when you open the page, only a placeholder is shown and no data is transmitted to YouTube. The video is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you click the placeholder.
From that moment a connection to YouTube/Google servers is established, transmitting in particular your IP address, device and browser information and the page you visited. When playing, YouTube may store or read information on your device. If you are logged in to a Google account, YouTube may associate the visit with your account. It cannot be ruled out that data is transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists.
The legal basis is your consent given by clicking the placeholder (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Consent applies only to the respective video and the current page view; you can withdraw it at any time by reloading or leaving the page. Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy.
7. Links to other websites and social networks
This website contains simple links to, among others, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, 500px, Etsy and Spreadshirt, as well as to publishers and media. These are ordinary links, not embedded plugins: no data is transmitted to these providers when you visit this website. Only when you click a link do you leave this website; the respective provider is then responsible for data processing on the target page. Orders via Etsy or Spreadshirt are subject to those providers’ privacy policies.
8. Your rights
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions you have the right at any time to:
- access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Simply contact me by email at microart@sagaoptics.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
9. Last updated
This privacy policy was last updated in October 2026. I will adapt it if the website or the legal requirements change.
